This Dude Perfectly Recreates Homer Snacking Scene from ‘The Simpsons’

Snacking with Homer

We’ve seen a lot of fan-made Simpsons stuff in our time – from intros to couch gags to products – but this one is a bit different. Some dude has recreated the famous scene (though all scenes are famous when you’ve seen them eight million times) where Homer snacks on multiple junk food treats in a coordinated, masterful way – from season three’s “Lisa the Greek.”

From the matching & positioning of the snacks, to the setting’s appearance, to the eating technique and order, this guy totally nails it all. He even looks the part. Metro.co.uk has a slowed down version that does the tribute better justice.

The “Snacking with Homer” star is Caolan McArthur, and the short clip was produced by Park Rice and Van Wampler.

“The idea came while watching the show in our studio one night,” Van Wampler told Metro. We run a production company called CinemaRaven in Broomfield, Colorado. On our days off we like to work on whatever it is we can think of to keep creative and fresh.”

“The choreography wasn’t as challenging as we thought it was going to be,” he continued. “We went frame by frame with the show. It would have been easier if Caolan could see the monitor that was set up in front of him. He has terrible vision without glasses on, so we had to tell him what to do for all 200 or so frames. All in all, it took about 7 hours from set up to delivery with a team of 3.” See now if they were doing Family Guy, he could’ve just kept the specs on.

In the end, the whole thing is a total waste of time, if you ask most people. But in my opinion: absolute brilliance.
