English Dub Review: Yurikuma Arashi “The Moon Girl and the Forest Girl”

“The Moon and the Forest Girl” has kept going with the backstory that has been sorely missing since the show’s inception. Now, “The Moon Girl and the Forest Girl” spent half of an episode flashing back to the story of how Kureha and Sumika got together. Unfortunately, things come around and the Invisible Storm has finally reared it’s ugly head.

The plot that has finally been unleashed in full, and Kureha is in the middle of it all. Kaoru finally enacted her plan to make Kureha crumble under the weight of the Invisible Storm. Once again, the day is saved, by Ginko. After Kaoru threw the letter Sumika wrote in the fire, Kureha slowly comes around to the meaning of her letter as Ginko jumped into the fire set by the rest of the students. Kureha has been feeling pretty bad since the two bears decided to crash there, and she started her day trying to find them. What really got me on my heels, Kaoru isn’t the leader on this. There is someone behind her, pulling strings. And my guess is that it’s the principal.

Yurikuma Arashi has come along way in trying to tell a story. “The Moon Girl and the Forest Girl” only had a very brief scene with the Yuri Court, who were actually in the human world. The reason why, is because it was finally revealed that they are the voice that kept calling Kureha, as well as who called Ginko. This isn’t the worst ever, but thinking back, I should have figured it out. I actually feel dumber because I wasn’t able to figure it out. If lesbian bear / human relations are your thing, I think you can start watching Yurikuma Arashi. But don’t expect much except a lot of ultra heavy lesbian undertones. “The Moon Girl and the Forest Girl” was the best episode yet, easily.
