No More Simpsons DVDs?

Although it is unclear as to whether or not we are talking DVDs and Blu-Rays, either way, if you were a long-time Simpsons DVD collector, then you’re gonna be pissed about this.
Al Jean noted on his Twitter recently that there will be no more DVDs from The Simpsons and that episode commentaries on episodes will continue on FX. Noting that the market is dying for home media due to piracy and the rise of online streaming, Al noted that producing DVDs are no longer viable for at least here in America, but global could be a different scenario altogether and Al notes that the producers of The Simpsons want to get ”everything available to all”.
This shouldn’t come as a surprise. Most of the FOX animated series’ that have come out the last several years on DVD have been Amazon MOD’s including Bob’s Burgers, American Dad, The Cleveland Show, and others. Really, it’s just the sign of the times, and very seldom when we review a DVD do we see the value in it over say purchasing the entire season on Amazon Instant or just watching on Hulu. Gonzo’s gonna be pissed…
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
