Comics Review: The Simpsons Comics #220
Spoilers Below
Ned opens a bar across the street from Moe, one that is cleaner with colder beer, and a real dart board. It isn’t long before Moe starts losing a bunch of business with Homer being the lone hold-out. As a result, Moe sends Homer into Ned’s to get intel, but eventually Homer begins to like the new bar better than his old stomping grounds. Just as Homer is about to walk out the door, Moe breaks down and begs for help.
One day, Ned gets a message from God to shut his place down and leave. He does just that, and Moe’s is back in business with a renewed passion about the business and keeping customers happy…for now.
Our Take
Nothing too fancy, but the latest issue of Simpsons Comics proves to be one of the best efforts of the year thus far. The idea of Ned running a bar was a bunch of fun, and Moe nearly breaking down had me on edge if he was finally end it all in a fit of rage. To be honest, this idea was so good, I don’t know why this one didn’t become its own episode! A definite buy…
