“3 Big Problems

Penn, Boone, and Sashi turn into monsters reminiscent from popular film-lore like Godzilla, King Kong, and others. Their mission is to survive long enough to convince the President that they are indeed good guys and shouldn’t be seen as evil monsters. Unfortunately, Larry and Rippen lead and Army that say otherwise, and Rip spends the entirely of the episode trying to convince the Prez to kill the monsters. Eventually, she sides with Rippen, but the monsters are able to fight off 99.9% 0f a super weapon that nearly wipes them out. Unfortunately, one missile gets loose and ends up inside of a volcano which then sets it off. To help, the monsters pick up the city and move it away from the volcano, thereby removing the city from any harm.

As a huge fan of monster movies, I knew early on I was going to score this one with a bit of bias. I would’ve liked to have seen more creativity with the different monster designs, and it was kind of interesting to see Rippen and Larry be considered bad guys BUT working for the Army…interesting concept. Yea, it worked.

Cereal Criminals”

Penn, Boone, and Sashi head to a world where everyone is characters inspired by breakfast cereal with the exception of one…the Milk Man. The Milk Man wants to make it so the world made of cereal sits in milk and becomes gross, so Penn and the guys have to go to Rippen’s holding cell where they have to play tricks on him in exchange for the location of Milk Man’s attack. The heroes make it there on time and are able to beat the hell out of Milk Man and  leave him trapped in a jar.

We had a LOT going on in this episode which I think made it just as good as the first one. For starters,  I loved the idea of cereal characters with my personal favorite being Boone taking a sot at all of the hippy kale eaters. Also, the Silence of the Lambs take on Rippen and Larry was one of the best things I’ve seen in a cartoon all year, and the fact that Milk Man was your villain was a great way to spice things up. We also got to see more of the back-story with Rippen and Penn in terms of where the villains start their day before they become bad guys. As a matter of fact, I wonder if there’s more to that last scene than we possible could imagine.
