Review: Marvel’s Ultimate Spider-man: Web Warriors “The Spider-Verse: Part Two”
Spoilers Below
Spidey chases The Goblin in a world that’s inspired by the early 1900’s. Goblin is already here causing trouble and both Spider-Man and Spider-Man Noir go after him and send him off of a bridge. It isn’t long before the two Spider-Men end up coming to blows, but The Goblin steals Mary Jane and hijacks a blimp.
The Spidey duo head up in a plane and save Goblin’s hostages as well as MJ, but The Goblin ends up getting The Spider’s blood and takes off in a portal. The blimp is badly damaged, so the Spider-Men save all on board and send the blimp into the river. Spider-Man heads into the portal after his nemesis.
Spider-Man ends up in a Looney Tunes-like world where Peter Porker aka Spider-Ham and after doing our proper introductions we find out the swine recently called it quits, but not for long because The Goblin shows up and starts in on his song and dance. The Spidey duo end up housing The Goblin in a fight, but a sample of Ham’s hair gets taken and he heads off into the portal.
Our Take
Despite the fact that I have my obvious gripes with this series, most of which revolve around my general distaste for The Goblin’s character design, this week’s episode was pretty awesome. The Noir piece was very well-done with art direction that simply had the wow-factor. Why the producers decided to use Milo Ventimiglia in the role of Spider-Noir and not Chris Barnes whom is really the true animated Spider-Man of yesteryear, is beyond be. But the background designs and overall aesthetic of the Noir was simply too good to let sour grapes ruin.
The Spider-Ham bit was just as fun as anyone who was a fan of The Looney Tunes growing up is going to love the cartoon-violence and the overall look. As mentioned, your production crew put in a lot of over-time work on this one and deserve raises.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
