Nowadays it seems everyone and their mother is watching House of Cards on Netflix. Unless you actually work for the company; then you might just be enjoying it via Nintendo.

Engineers from the streaming video service – Guy Cirino, Alex Wolfe, and Carenina Motion – hacked an 8-bit NES game console at a recent Hack Day event, and viewed part of the House of Card‘s third season. They also created the ability to browse between films and TV shows, and load recaps, images, and playback media.

The Nintendo Entertainment System was first released in Japan back in 1983, and only featured 48 colors, six grays, and 256×240 pixels – a grand achievement at the time.
