This Fan-Made Pixelated ‘Simpsons’ Intro is Phenomenal
Although The Simpsons have long been on the decline as far as episode quality is concerned, one aspect that’s actually improving is the introduction sequences. Beginning with the same intro every week and a unique couch gag finale of only a second or two in length, the show’s openings have more recently grown into segments over a minute long at times, chock full of references, minor characters, celebrity cameos & spoofs, and mind-blowing animation.
By that logic, this intro by artists Paul Robertson and Ivan Dixon should become an official one.
Seriously.
The pixelated graphics recall the old Simpsons arcade game, the classic 8-bit music by Jeremy Dower is equally as nostalgic, and the easter eggs are so plentiful you’ll have to watch it numerous times and make liberal use of the pause button.
I wouldn’t attempt to list all the characters here, nor could I even if I tried (given both the amount or writing space allotted to this article and the time I’m willing to devote to it) but it goes as deep as Stampy the elephant, obscure houseguest (and Poochie “inspiration”) Roy, and Surly the Duff Beer Bottle. And the elaborate couch gag includes fat Homer (from “King-Size Homer”), fat Bart (“I wash myself with a rag on a stick”), and fat Lisa (“Welsey, get momma’s pryin’ bar.”) That’s all I’m saying.
Watch it now. Then watch it again. And probably a third time too.

"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
