Review: Stone Quackers ”Episode #1.5”

This week’s Stone Quackers sees Whit and Clay try a new method of ignoring peoples’ pleas for assistance by blaring a real-life busy signal. Do you kids at home know what a busy signal is? In any case, it works so well that it works on against each other.

Then, Officer Barry shows up looking for Whit and Clay, but Dottie answers the door. Just as the conversation between the two was about to get interesting, Dottie’s ex shows up and begins taunting the two of them. At first, Barry tries to leave, but he ends up grabbing a saw and cutting this dude’s car in half. Whit and Clay show up to help Barry load the car into his trunk.

Finally, Barf lets Whit know that he put a bunch of snake eggs into the heated vents. Naturally, the house becomes overrun with snakes and everyone has to pitch in to get rid of them. But, what happens when Barf eats a bunch of snake eggs? Well, he pukes snakes which leads to yet another bat-shit crazy moment that sees Dottie and Barf turn into Satanic beings and cause all sorts of chaos.

As the title implies, this week’s episode was almost like a collection of shorts within a collection of shorts. Unlike prior weeks, we weren’t treated to a 12-minute arc. Rather, we were treated to three, roughly 4 minute shorts, with small arcs that really don’t intertwine. Personally, I kind of liked this idea because things were spiced up a bit and I wasn’t really bored with any one particular thread. Instead, we got three funny bits, however it was the last two that were the most interesting. The last one featuring the snakes was hysterical, but it was also the most ‘fantastical’ episode of Stone Quackers we’ve seen so far with the number of snakes and the fact that both Barf and Dottie went ballistic. Similarly, Office Barry had his own moment of insanity by slicing someone’s car in half. We really haven’t seen a whole lot of emotion out of Barry, but this time around we got to see a bunch more of his personality, and now I want to see a whole bunch more of just him.
