Review: Penn Zero: Part-Time Hero “Flurgle Burgle / Temple of the Porcelain God”
Cake and farts in the same half-hour…

“Flurgle Burgle
Sashi has a hard-time letting go of her part-time job. In any case, Penn and Boone join her in space where no one can hear you scream. We find out that the ship needs more fuel crystals to survive, but when the trio gets sent to the planet of which to obtain the rare product, Penn cross breeds with a ‘Flurgle Burgle’. Rippen gets wind of it and decides to take action by capturing Sashi and Boone as his prisoners. Thankfully, Penn Flurgle shows up and saves the day, but he ends up giving the credit to Sashi. Back at home, Sashi has her cake and eats it too.
I hope this episode is a growing theme as to what’s to come. I liked the idea that we got to meet Sashi’s family and spend a little time with the kids at school before we set off for an adventure. I wouldn’t be opposed to seeing how the kids deal with being kids a little more. Penn voice Tom Middleditch does a fantastic job doing the Flurgle voice, and the Silicon Valley actor continues to show acting chops that we didn’t know he had.
Temple of the Porcelain God”
This one starts out rather interesting. Phyllis does playback video of a recent mission that Penn, Sashi, and Boone took part in much to the chagrin of the kids. This adventure sees the gang do an almost Indiana Jones take where they have to get a trinket over to a temple before Rip and Larry catch them. We eventually reach a toilet monster who goes nuts and attacks the adventurers, and not only do we get to the temple, we do it without the trinket that we need. We find out that the trinket is inside of “flushy’s” mouth and Penn has to jump into the guy’s mouth to get it. Penn gets his trinket and us able to return it to the temple. We find out that Phyllis is rather happy with the performance of her heroes, but she only did it to get some meatloaf.
Like the first-half, we get a slightly different vantage point of a particular case and the idea is quite funny. This is by far the most we’ve seen of Phyllis and she turns out to be a real trip. She’s almost a Homer Simpson-esque character but WAY more lady.
The actual adventure was certainly more entertaining than ‘Kingdom of the Crystal Skull’, and the giant toilet monster was a great idea that eventually lead us to one big fart joke. And who doesn’t love those?
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
