Sky Sports Anchor Hilariously Confused Footballer Scott Flinders with ‘Simpsons’ Character Ned Flanders
Hens love roosters, geese love ganders, everyone else loves Ned Flanders…even Paul Merson, former Arsenal footballer and current Sky News sportscaster. During Sunday’s Premier League coverage, Merson mistakenly referred to Hartlepool goalkeeper Scott Flinders as “Flanders,” and ever-aware of his flub, pointed out that he must have had The Simpsons on the brain.
And why not? With The Simpsons returning from a holiday hiatus on the same day (see review), Merson definitely wasn’t the only one thinking of the world’s favorite cartoon family.
