Netflix is cracking down on users who access via VPN

So, Netflix is a regional service similar to the way DVDs were back when people still bought those and we’ve been on the negative receiving end of that when trying to watch content in other countries e.g. if we in the United States wanted to watch Teletoon at Night videos, we can’t, so that’s why we have Canadian writers. The way around this is to use some sort of VPN service that allows you to access your home computer which may have Netflix installed allowing you to watch what you want no matter where you are.

Lately, Netflix has been trying to become more international, so it’s no surprise that they want to put a stop to these VPN’s, and according to Torrentfreak.com that’s exactly what is happening. TorGuard is already reporting on a bunch of errors of people trying to use Netflix via VPN, leaving international customers seeking either work-arounds or subscriptions to the local versions of Netflix.

I’m kind of in agreement on this, as I’m sure Entertainment companies are losing dollars as a result. Playing by the rules does two things: 1) It promotes the use of international versions of Netflix that could produce its own content and 2) It keeps revenue with the producers of said entertainment, allowing more to be produced.
