Comics Review: The Simpsons #217
This month, Skinner and Chalmers have to resort to desperate measures after a stink bomb goes off in their offices. Milhouse, Bart, and Nelson get named as the guilty parties and BOOM now they have to do Willie’s work around the school. With all of the free time, Willie decides to take up reading and soon earns a college degree. The degree lands Willie a gig as the sub teacher at the school and he does a rather awesome job of doing so.
Meanwhile, Homer finds the cure for the common crappy vacuum. As a result, he goes into business with Gil whom has to leave half way through because all of the success nearly kills him. Eventually, Homer’s cleaning habits are so good that Lisa and Willie have to convince Homer to stop so that plant life doesn’t die due to lack of bee pollination.
Yea, I thought that last part was a bit over the top as well, but overall, I rather enjoyed #217. It’s not every month where we get all Willie stories and this one was really, really good. Unfortunately, the Homer plot was rather cliche right up until the end when we decided to throw in the worst reason ever for Homer to leave his business behind. Still a solid buy, as I much prefer the A-B plot formats versus a bunch of short stories.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
