Gingersnaps and Grumpy Snaps

I’ve always loved Cheri Oteri and have always wondered why she hasn’t had a more impressive career in voice acting. She’s so friggin talented and she played a bunch of characters on SNL that to this day stand the test of time in terms of hilarity.

In The 7D she plays an elf named Gingersnaps that is tasked with helping Grumpy with EVERYTHING after the dwarf saves his life. At first, this seems to go rather well for Grumpy, but after a while he gets a bit bored with his new toy and decides to set Gingersnaps free. At first it doesn’t even look like this idea is possible, but Grumpy soon finds out that the quickest way to an Elf’s heart (and freedom) is with cookies.

As mentioned, Cheri Oteri as Gingersnaps was just as good as any guest star this series has had this season. I got a little bored of the songs, and at times the video diaries can be a bit of a nuisance, but overall this one snaps into place just fine and offers up a holiday episode that doesn’t force-feed you the typical Christmas crap that you see in other shows.

Jollybells”

Hildy gets a present from her hubby that allows her to zap the Jolly out of everyone in the downtown area. Unfortunately, once she gets to Doc, her machine overflows with stored up joy that it explodes and gives everyone back their joy…even to the Glooms!

Unfortunately, this episode just feels a BIT too atypical of your regular 7D in that Hildy gets something new, tries to destroy downtown, and the dwarves some how manage to escape relatively unscathed. The first episode of the half-hour was MUCH more entertaining and original.
