Review: Squidbillies ”Jose Can You? Si!”
Spoilers Below
The INS comes by and gets rid of a bunch of illegal immigrants out of where Early works, but when the Sheriff is looking for HIS papers, the squiddy has no answers. Turns out Granny nearly had Early eaten by a shark in international waters which means Early may not be legal in the States and as a result the Sheriff is going to deport the sorry son of a bitch. Early runs away and meets up with a bunch of illegal immigrants whom tell Early if he works hard he can be a valued asset in the United States. Problem is, Early doesn’t really do a lot of work and the other illegals aren’t a fan of his output. The Sheriff and Rusty show up to meet Early and tell him about a test that can make him a citizen, but he’s not taking it until other immigrants can do the same. Early decides to take the test but really he had someone else do it for him. None of the answers are correct, but Early decides to submit the answers anyway allowing him to be an American. Turns out, the test wasn’t official anyway, so Early decides to marry his mother.
Our Take
Family Guy pretty much did this plot a while ago in an episode entitled ‘Padre de Familia’, only I guess this week of Squids had a bit of a twist ending. As a result, I couldn’t help but think that I had heard every one of these jokes. I simply couldn’t get into the finale, and we’ll get into more detail for the rest of the season in the season review being posted next week, but I was a bit let down with this one.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
