Review: Regular Show ”White Elephant Gift Exchange”

Benson wants to get back at Muscle Man at the gift exchange this year for always giving terrible gifts and ruining Christmas. The plan is to get Muscle Man the worst possible gift ever and a bunch of the guys break up into teams of two so as to find the perfectly bad present. When the gift exchange gets underway, Muscle Man shows up with a new TV. All of a sudden, the entire park roster minus Muscle Man gets zapped to an alternate dimension with the White Elephant that condemns the guys for trying to get back at Muscle Man. The crew heads back and we find out that Muscle Man pulled yet another prank, so fuck him, he gets his shitty gift.

First thing’s first, we really don’t get a ’30-minute Holiday Special’ of Regular Show, rather it’s TWO 12-minute Christmas inspired Regular Show episodes. That said, the first outing was pretty good, but as you’ll see in the other episode’s review it was largely overshadowed. I like how this show just zaps to somewhere else on a dime, but the real prize was all of the shit that Muscle Man took on his present. I mean, a T-shirt cannon, but my personal favorite was the elf that just pops out and beats the shit out of him while the other employees just sat and watched. This was probably the hardest I laughed at an animated series in a really long time, and Regular Show continues to crush it this season.
