Charlie Brown gets more viewers than pretty much all of the new programming for ABC
People still probably wonder to this day why the hell after 41 years does A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving still air. For starters, the Thanksgiving special is nowhere near as popular as the Christmas or Halloween specials, but if you look at the ratings report from last week, you’ll see exactly why.
Deadline.com is reporting that A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving tied for 1st as the most-watched program from last Wednesday Night, thereby beating Hell’s Kitchen and the soon-to-be cancelled Red Band Society (this show looked shitty anyway):
A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving is not acting its age. The 41-year-old cartoon extended its ratings streak with another impressive gain, helped by a move from Thursday to Wednesday. It tied CBS’ Survivor as the No.1 program of the night with a 2.1 in adults 18-39, up +31% from last year. Over the last three years, the Peanuts classic has posted 1.1 (2012, Thanksgiving night), 1.6 (2013, Thanksgiving night) and 2.1 last night.
We’ve got quite a few more holiday specials on the way including two this week, one coming from ABC and one coming from NBC the latter of which has ANOTHER one on the way featuring Jim Parsons as Elf. Needless to say, you’ll have plenty of alternates to watching endless Home Alone this holiday season.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
