Review: Wander Over Yonder ”The Big Job; The Helper”
Spoilers Below
The Big Job
Wander and Sylvia join space’s A-team in a mission to sneak into Lord Hater’s device aka the HT125F so as to save the galaxy. Sylvia really wants to join the team, so she tells Wander to stay on his best behavior and not let ANYONE into Hater’s HQ while the others get to work. Unfortunately, Wander lets someone in, and it’s up to Wander to kick the guy out of the building. Wander does just that, but soon after, a locksmith, a plumber, and a pizza guy get in with a number of others and pandemonium ensues. Eventually, everyone leaves, with the exception of a scientist who has a set of keys needed to complete the mission before Hater comes by. The team escapes and everyone is safe and accounted for, and Wander/Sylvia join this team of ‘Insurgents’. So what was the HT125F? It was used to operate Hater’s hot tub. Yep…turns out this team is a bunch of pussies and that Sylvia ad Wander make a good enough team as is.
Imagine if the Michael Mann-directed feature-length was run over by a Wander Over Yonder truck and you have a good idea of the premise for this one. The team featured a lot of really funny characters with my personal favorite being the wolf, and I really dug the first 46 seconds of the episode because I was almost convinced that I was watching a different show altogether until Wander and Sylvia popped in. The ending featured a fun twist, and the trip to get there was really entertaining.

The Helper
Wander goes around helping anyone that looks like that needs help. It annoys Sylvia, because everyone seems to be set. Sylvia eventually tells Wander that not EVERYONE needs his help, and yea it bums out Wander, but eff him. The duo head into a downtown area and despite Wander’s best efforts no one really needs a hand. Hater shows up to grab something to eat, but when Wander tries to confront the evil deity, Wanders gets asked to leave. This causes Wander to FLIP out and for the town’s residents to order him out. Ever see Fight Club? Think that.
Unfortunately, I kinda didn’t care about the second half of this week’s Wander Over Yonder. All ‘The Helper’ did was help annoy the hell out of me as his incessant badgering was getting on my nerves. Hater actually gave us one of the few laughs of the episode, but overall ‘The Big Job’ was WAY better.

"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
