Review: Regular Show ”The Real Thomas”

Doubting Thomas.

Spoilers Below

At first, Rigby is the only one that seems to be on Thomas’ scent that he’s a spy working for the Russian government, especially when he kills a CIA guy. Eventually, Thomas comes forward as a Russian spy on his last day aka the day he was supposed to be named a full-time park dude by Benson. But, more Russian spies start to show themselves and capture everyone that works at the park…so are we getting a hero?

We find out that Thomas was trained to be a KGB spy that had to infiltrate a US park and learn the ways of running a park here so that he can take that knowledge and go back to Russia to build his own park.Turns out, this park is kinda average, and Thomas has been playing the employees like puppets in an effort to gain insight. Muscle Man and High Fives are still at the house, and they decide to track down their friends. Tom turns the entire fucking park into a ship that flies off with a heading to Russia with the promises that the employees will all be slaves. Thomas leaves, and the park employees get free just in time for Muscle Man to drive up and save his friends. The crew grab Pops’ car and flies to a chopper carrying Benson’s ex Natalie and Thomas.

Thomas decides to turn on his Russian friends and opts to try and save the park. Natalie starts to kick the shit out of the former intern, but she gets dumped off of the ship and Rigby is able to grab the controller and return the park home. Thomas turns down a full-time job, and he decides to go on the run.

Whenever this series does 30-minute episodes, the producers always do a great job. More often than not, they do SUCH a great job, that the longer episodes feel just like the shorter episodes. This one was special though, and yea we may have had a similar plot to X Men: First Class, overall it was such an interesting concept to pretty much rid the park of Thomas just like that. Something tells me, the show is getting rid of some characters, and introducing or RE-introducing others. This show has been strong as of late, and it looks like it’s not slowing down anytime soon.
