Review: Mr. Pickles ‘Coma’

Spoilers Below

Mr. Goodman gets put in a coma and dreams of him being a dog like Mr. Pickles. We leave the dream state and find Goodman still out, so when Jane starts reading a book, Goodman goes back to being a dog and eventually realizes that he is indeed dreaming, but he’s having a typical dog’s wet visions of kitty cats, dogs, and more. Worse yet, if Goodman dies in his dream, he’ll die in real life. Goodman awakens and realizes everything was a dream.

Meanwhile, The Boss is here looking for lunch, Jane is being mobbed to continue reading books, Tommy writes a book that he writes using a typewriter, and Mr. Pickles kills the doctor and rapes the nurse. Goodman heads back home, and so does Mr. Pickles.

Our Take

This show is best when it doesn’t try to do TOO much. This week, having Mr. Goodman in a coma was pretty hysterical, but there were so many strands of different other things going on that really went nowhere. I love The Boss, but he wasn’t really needed. Tommy and Jane were kind of pests, and even Mr. Pickles took a pseudo back seat this week in favor of more Goodman, which is fine because daddy was a dog. However, Goodman being a dog was just so fucking hysterical I couldn’t contain myself, and that alone gives this week a great score.
