Review: Mike Tyson Mysteries ”Heavyweight Champion of the Moon”
Spoilers Below
Mike Tyson and the crew pick up Buzz Aldrin from the airport, but he gets into a car accident on the way to see Elton John at Caesar’s Palace thereby killing the legendary astronaut. Turns out this isn’t Mike’s first run-in with killing astronauts as the insurance company is getting ready to come down hard on the former heavyweight champion. Mike decides to take off into space minus the Pigeon, but with the mystery wagon being towed off, Mike decides to take Elon Musk’s rocket to the moon. Chambers and Mike’s daughter stays behind at the last second, and Mike is off towards the moon! Once there, Mike finds a rover, but he runs over Richard Branson! While trying to call it in to his insurance company, Mike finds out that he really didn’t kill a bunch of astronauts, rather they were astronomers which isn’t as good. Back on Earth, Mike runs over another scientist.
There’s just something missing about this show that I can’t put my finger on, and I think it has something to do with the dialogue. Quite frankly, it’s just not THAT funny of a show yet. There are some moments here and there, mostly from Mike, but for the most part the show just feels quiet. Chambers just bores the hell out of me, and aside from the first episode, I’m not sure we really solved any mysteries. Something’s gotta give here, because we are light years away from the bar that Rick and Morty set.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
