The guys are in a home economics class taught by a gym teacher, so naturally when Kirby Buckets and Fish burn their cakes, they fear that they have to do push ups. Eli aces the test, but by the time the teacher sees Buckets, the aspiring animator decides to fake sick. The nurse buys it, and learns that Kirby has a rather serious disease that allows him to go home. When Kirby heads back to class, Kirby’s illness news has spread all over campus all thanks to the nurse (evidently, there is no ‘Doctor-Patient’ confidentiality agreement here).Kirby is struggling with the notion of either coming clean about his illness, or to see how far this can go. On one hand, he’s lying, on the other, he’s insanely popular.

Meanwhile, Belinda and Dawn try to make friends with one of the popular girls by starting a charity. Unfortunately, the other girls turn to her brother for an idea for a new fundraiser. Dawn’s kinda pissed because she knows her brother is lying, so she decides to crash the fundraiser right in front of the attendees, live-cameras, and whoever the hell else might be there.

On the day of the fundraiser, Dawn gets in front of everyone and begins to challenge all of Kirby’s symptoms thereby pretty much crucifying him in front of anyone. Eli’s mouse shows up and goes nuts all over the place and at first the crowd is moved in a frenzy, but Dawn calms everyone down so that they can get down to business and prove Kirby is a liar. On the last test, Kirby fails, but the nurse bails him out and Dawn gets OWNED in front of everyone. Kirby makes one last visit to home ec where he’s tasked with doing a whole bunch of push ups.

I can’t help but stress that the directing is so good in this show. The slow-mo on both the news lady and Eli chasing his rat were done so well, and Kirby was dynamite with his sick-journey, and even if he lays out a joke that maybe isn’t all that great, his devilish smile and smart-alec tone does a lot to make the punch line funny anyway. Fish kinda bored me tonight, but he actually dished out some good laughs at the end, and Eli is starting to grow on me. I wasn’t a fan of how fast Dawn ditched wanted to put together her own charity with Belinda and the other girls, but it did give way for another instance of just a totally cruel sister act that should make siblings everywhere happy about the fact that they don’t have one like her. And why was Dad in this episode for like 15 seconds? I honestly thought Kirby’s parents were going to show up SOMEWHERE in the end, and was kinda disappointed they didn’t. In any case, this show has me sick to my stomach in laughs…and I don’t want to be cured.
