The paradigm of how people typically watch TV is ever-expanding and that continues with Sony announcing the launch of it’s new web-based cloud-TV service known as PlayStation Vue. The service is slated to launch in 2015 commercially with over 75 channels with partners that include FOX, NBCUniversal, Viacom and others and that the service will be offered as a subscription service.

According to Deadline, the new service is set to by-pass cable and satellite, and will offer live, on-demand and catch-up television content. Obviously, it’s not completely by-passing cable because you still need a way to access the internet, so don’t go cutting your cord yet, but you can start to think about saving some dough on your  monthly bill.

The service is exclusive to the 35 million PS3 and PS4 owners, and I can damn guarantee that original content is on the way. As of yet, no specific programming has been announced that would be viewable, but the aforementioned partners should provide a good foundation moving forward.

Good thing I have my PlayStation.
