Comics Review: Black Dynamite #4
Black Dynamite comics has been a weird as hell experience. The short-run series went for four issues of being a way more violent/serious effort that is honestly unlike the animated series or the movie. This quarter’s issue featured a murder mystery surrounding a popular basketball player that actually proved quite entertaining. Granted, I could be biased, I love basketball, and the scene featuring all of boxing’s greats sitting within a few feet of each other had me going.
The look of the series is weird as well. I’m all for artistic integrity, but this is like the fifth different hand-drawn interpretation of Black Dynamite, and I think it would behoove the series not to follow suit. Also, any fans of the Whorephanage, its employees, or any of the villains or sarcasm that appears in the animated series, are going to be sorely disappointed. Comics have never been kind to TV show properties not from FOX nor Cartoon Network,
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
