Shorts Review: Barrel deCloon – Where Eagles Fear to Tread

Barrel DeCloon assembles a crack team to recover stolen files from a Nazi fortress. Unfortunately, the mission goes insane as everyone on Barrel’s team dies, but it’s cool because the General’s risque pictures are safe and shredded. Now on to the next mission…which requires a team.

Bite on Mondo’s short is kind of a mixed bag for me. On one hand I love the character designs, some of the gags, and the overall premise of the series. I mean, it’s not often you see animated period pieces that are in turn animated comedies…almost never happens. Unfortunately, the dialogue just bores be half to death, and I honestly couldn’t count one laugh that was muttered in any way. I think there’s some good ideas here, but they aren’t presented to its fullest yet.
