Jim Parsons to top-line ‘Elf’ for NBC
The Elf franchise helped put Will Ferrell on the map and furthermore is a movie that along with Home Alone, A Christmas Story, and more Home Alone will probably be replayed 10,000 times over the next few months. So what’s a broadcast network to do? CASH IN!
NBC has announced that they will be premiering a stop-motion animated special called, Elf: Buddy’s Musical Christmas. The Big Bang Theory’s Jim Parsons has been announced as the voice of ‘Buddy the Elf’, and Ed Asner is coming back as Santa Claus. Other voices slated to appear include Mark Hamill, Fred Armisen, Jay Leno, Matt Lauer, Gilbert Gottfried, Kate Micucci, Rachael MacFarlane, Max Charles, and Steve Higgins. The special will also feature songs from the Broadway adaptation of Elf including, “Happy All the Time,” “A Christmas Song,” and “Nobody Cares About Santa Claus.”
Elf: Buddy’s Musical Christmas is set to premier on NBC for Tuesday, December 16th at 8pm

Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
