Comics Review: Uncle Grandpa #1
Spoilers Below
The first issue of Uncle Grandpa the comic is a lot like the TV show where you get the most random of stories thrown at you with no discernible plot. Think the Looney Tunes on speed and that’s a pretty good description of what you can expect. Does the comic for this series take as many stylistic variations than say The Simpsons or Regular Show comics, but LIKE The Simpsons comics you get JAM-PACKED with original stories and games that keep you entertained perhaps far longer than the other franchises.
The plots, as mentioned, are many but simple and contrite. For example, we get to see Uncle Grandpa put together a pantry, but it turns into a door into alternate dimensions. We get scary stories just in time for Halloween, but these stories feature monsters that look like something out of Toy Story’s hell. Switching butts with Gus, finding out where Uncle G. gets his suspenders, and shorts dotted throughout.
Add in a few puzzles, and you’ve got a KaBoom release that already rivals some its own franchises. Producers of the Regular Show comics should take note…there’s a new comic inspired by a Cartoon Network franchise that’s doing it better than you.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
