Site Makes Graphs of Every Word Used on ‘The Simpsons’ and Other TV Shows & Movies
This week in “Things Nerds Like,” we have a site that tracks the frequency of word usage in 100,000 movies and TV episodes from the last 80 years.
Seriously.
Northeastern University professor Benjamin Schmidt used Culturomics’ Bookworm tool to scan text files from OpenSubtitles.org, a closed-captioning site, and organize the data into searchable graphs that show how often a word or phrase appears out of every million words in a given year.
Those of you wishing to use this tool for words in The Simpsons are especially fortunate, because Schmidt created a separate Bookworm just for the series.
Check it out for yourself, but please don’t blame me when your boss fires you for wasting large portions of your work day messing around on some weird site. (And no, I’m not talking about your obsession with Japanese tentacle porn.)

"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
