First Look Reax: Star Wars Rebels Short “Not What You Think”

Here’s your last short for Star Wars: Rebels! After the jump, see what Ezra gets himself into after finding a downed TIE Fighter.

Ezra is a black market scavenger, who doesn’t exactly wait for the pilots to abandon their broken down ships. We get our first look at how Ezra makes his score, and this kid is pretty slick. While distracting the TIE Fighter pilot, he manages to score two nodes off of the console, as well as the pilot’s helmet. Yes, I said his helmet. He makes his escape, only to get shot at by the TIE cannons. When he stops dodging, he uses a wrist mounted sling shot to knock out the pilot. He then claims the helmet as his own, and walks off.

I really like Ezra as a character. He was able to talk himself into and out of the cockpit of the TIE Fighter with ease, and got himself some nice Imperial swag to sell. I keep saying this, but I still feel the animation for Rebels is leagues above what The Clone Wars was, but is still able to keep the general feel intact. “Not What You Think” definitely plays to the more sarcastic side of Star Wars, like most of the shorts that have been released. It’s a good thing because most things Star Wars can get lost in how serious it is. This is the last short before the movie premieres on WatchDisneyXD.com on September 29th.
