Bubbleblabber vs Carl’s Stone Cold Pick of the NFL Week 4: Bucs vs Steelers

Things are starting to taper off JUST a bit with the NFL scandals as good sports stories like Derek Jeter’s retirement, Tony Stewart’s clearing in a murder case, and the kick up of hockey season starts to take center stage. Even on-field football is starting to feel normal again, and this week we get to move forward on the Bucs taking on the Steelers. One week after both myself and Carl picked the Saints to win (and win they did), Carl has picked the Pittsburgh Steelers as this week’s victor.

Now let’s get into the breakdowns:

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

I hate the new Bucs unis…that said that might be the only thing going for this team all season. They are bound to start rookie QB Mike Glennon today but only because Josh McCown is probably going to be out with a thumb. Doug Martin and Gerald McCoy are also slated to be out with injuries which means Tampa is probably going to be shit out of luck this weekend.

Pittsburgh Steelers

It’s still early, but the Steelers look primed for a decent playoff run. I’m not sure if they are a better team than Cincy, but perhaps the veteran leadership of James Harrison of whom played for the Bengals last season, can be the edge they need to get to the top. As for this week, the Steelers have a lot of important people on the injury report, but young players like Sean Spence and Arthur Moats stepped up when needed. Also, don’t expect much of a pass rush on Big Ben, he’s got a fantastic running game with Bell and Blount becoming this season’s thunder and lighting and both should be able to run for over a 100 yards this weekend. Ben knows how to manage shit from there, and I think this is going to be a one-sided affair all afternoon.
