Bubbleblabber vs Carl’s Stone Cold Pick of the NFL Week 3: Vikings vs Saints

And yet another crazy week in the NFL. More dirt is kicking up over how the Ravens handled the video-taped evidence of Ray Rice tagging his wife and more players like Greg Hardy of the Panthers are joining the heap of scumbag players that are being brought up on charges of domestic abuse. Despite all of this, Carl deems it necessary to give my Dallas Cowboys a wringing, and while my team certainly hasn’t been our of the limelight of shitty football work, all of the off field shit has been an awesome distraction to all of that game stuff. After a week in which both Carl and I picked the Saints to beat the Browns only to lose, we return with yet another Saints game. Watch Carl’s pick here.

Minnesota Vikings

I think the off field issues are going to hurt the Vikings the entire season. Matt Cassell isn’t the type of QB that has the balls to back his team up to the press, and the owners are making this team look more ridiculous by each day. Adrian Peterson is out, and despite the fact that Mike Zimmer has his defense playing well, I just don’t see this team repairing all of the mental anguish of the last several weeks. Not only that, but Sean Payton and Mike Zimmer used to be colleagues under Bill Parcells when they coached for the Dallas Cowboys, and Sean used to run the score against Mike every scrimmage, and I see similar happening here.

New Orleans Saints

The Saints have an awful defense, but thankfully they won’t even need one this week because Cassell sucks and A. Pete is beating the shit out of his kid. That said, a lot of people thought the Saints would’ve trounced all over the Browns, but that team seems to be playing better than advertised, and I wouldn’t be surprised if they trade either Hoyer or Johnny Football. In the meantime, I think the Saints at home is the safer pick, and Carl feels the same.
