Star Wars: Rebels First Impressions!
Disney XD had a sneak peek of Star Wars: Rebels last night! Is it worth the look?
The first thing you notice about Star Wars: Rebels, is that the animation looks crisper and more fluid than Star Wars: Clone Wars. That’s good, because every person’s hair on their head just looked like a block. The preview of Star Wars: Rebels takes place on Lother, in a bustling city.Speaking of the city, everyone and everything seems crisp and bustling. The city definitely looks from the original trilogy. That was something that seemed like it was going to take place between Episodes III and IV. In a time where Jedi seem to be extinct, Ezra (the main character) looks to be just getting his powers.
The story looks to be more lighthearted than the majority of Clone Wars. I’m excited about this, because it’s a new spin on the tone we’re so used to. Ezra seems to be more Han Solo than Luke Skywalker. This show seems to be moving into uncharted waters, and giving us a Han Solo type of character as a Jedi is pushing boundaries as much as anything shown so far.
I really want this to work, because it could give me a bit of confidence for Episode VII. There has been a lot of damage Star Wars allowed, and maybe an outside presence can bring some fresh energy into a universe most have viewed very stagnate. I know I can’t be the only one. Unfortunately, we have to wait until October to see full episodes.
As I watched this preview, I definitely got a feeling that this was a definite upgrade to Clone Wars. Star Wars: Rebels has done the smart thing, and tried to cultivate new characters instead of relying on Anakin, Yoda, Luke, Han, and the other known characters. I won’t be surprised to see cameos from characters like Leia, but the focus won’t be on them. Ezra seems like a dynamic character, and could be the driving force behind Star Wars: Rebels.

"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
