‘Simpsons’ Producer Al Jean Leaks Ending of Last Episode Ever… But Not Really
Rest easy, Simpsons fans. Not only has it been confirmed that there is no end of the series in sight, but producer Al Jean’s tweet about how the series might end is likely nothing but an entertaining fantasy.
“My idea for last episode — ends w/ arrival at Xmas pageant (beginning of first episode). Whole series a continuous loop…” Jean said on Twitter just prior to the FXX marathon’s commencement.
Although this would be a great way to close the show and pull the rug out from underneath every fan, it wouldn’t really add up. Think about it: at the time of the pageant, the Simpson Family didn’t have Santa’s Little Helper yet – so they would have to completely forget about ever having a dog and all his stuff would have to miraculously disappear without anyone noticing. (“Then why did I have the bowl, Bart? Why did I have the bowl?”)
My theory? The last 19 years were all a purgatory dream Bart has been having ever since he sold his soul to Milhouse back in Season 7.
It would certainly explain the show’s dip in quality, right?
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
