The Simpsons’ Al Jean (+ More) to Live-Tweet During FXX Marathon

Al Jean, producer of The Simpsons, announced that he will be live-tweeting during certain episodes of the show’s upcoming marathon on FXX.

Jean also plans to have other writers from the show’s past & present and guest stars participate on Twitter as well. Patton Oswalt and Sarah Silverman were both mentioned as possibilities.

With 552 episodes and a movie all set to air beginning on Thursday, August 21st at 10am, Jean clarified he won’t be active the entire time. “Not every minute,” he said. “That would be the end of me.” However, he’ll be making an effort to commentate on the episodes he wrote or ran.

Hopefully he’ll shed some light on classic Simpsons mysteries that have always bugged me, like how did Apu serve on a jury in Season 5’s “The Boy Who Knew Too Much” when he didn’t become a U.S. Citizen until Season 7’s “Much Apu About Nothing”? Or why did Homer feel the need to lie about discussing parenting with Flanders in Season 3’s “Saturdays of Thunder,” when he already talked to Dave (father of Dave Jr.), the director of the Fatherhood Institute? These are the things that keep me up at night.

Follow the official marathon handle, @BestSimpsons, for all the action. Also, check back with BubbleBlabber on Thursday morning for a special themed list of episodes to look for during the 12-day Simpsons extravaganza.
