First Look: Star Wars Rebels “Art Attack”

This week, Disney gives us a look at someone who loves blowing stuff up. Here’s our take on this week’s preview of Star Wars Rebels!

In this first look, we get a close up look at the animated Empire’s TIE Fighters, and a Rebel named Sabine in patchwork Mandalorian armor. The Clonetroopers still can’t shoot the broad side of the Death Star. This is a short look into what the Rebels will do to create diversions for the greater attacks. “Art Attack” wasn’t as in depth as last week’s preview, but it shows the depth that Disney is going to so that there are new and inventive characters for this show.

Again, I am amazed with the animation. The explosion that was caused by Sabine’s bomb / artwork was down right pretty. Yeah, I said it. The explosion was pretty. There is something about Sabine that reminds me of Deidara from Naruto Shippuden. Oh, right, it’s the explosion is art thing. Hopefully, Sabine’s fate is a little more positive, and she doesn’t die to a moody douchebag.

“Art Attack” felt shorter than “The Machine in the Ghost.” That’s mostly because there was a lot less emphasis on dialogue, and it focused on one character. So, if you’re expecting a lot of dialogue to get a feel for the character, you may want to reserve judgement until we get a full episode of Star Wars: Rebels. Taking her penchant for explosions and patchwork Mandalorian armor into account, Sabine is one of the more quirkier characters that have been the new Star Wars universe.

There is still no premiere date for Star Wars” Rebels. All we got is sometime in October, but that’s about as generic as Disney can get. I personally wouldn’t be surprised to see this premiere either right before, or right after, New York Comic Con.
