Comics Review: Simpsons Comics #214

Worst Con Ever!

The Simpsons are at Comic Con and Homer’s not exactly thrilled. To him it’s just a big smelly room filled with people who don’t shower and something, something. Eventually, Bart goes off and purchases Wolverine claws, but when he tries to be a hero he ends up ruining a Con display. Marge and Maggie head to the day care, while Lisa heads to a Malibu Stacy panel. Homer becomes enamored with finding the Christmas Ape whom is rumored to be on the show room floor, but on his way to go find him, people begin recognizing him as ‘Poochie’. At first, Homer runs for his life from the ‘zombies’, however when he learns that the zombies are just Con attendees cosplaying, he signs autographs. The family heads back to the day care to see Marge, Maggie, and Maggie’s new friend!

As someone who has similar misgivings about cosplaying as Homer does, I can totally relate to Homer’s qualms about Comic Con. This makes for a rather entertaining issue of The Simpsons, and really everyone in the family is accounted for. Fans of Lisa, Bart, and Homer all will have a good time with this one because their characters get good face time. However, you may want to brush up on your Poochie!
