Shorts Review: Stoopid Buddy Shortz – “Alfred Chinchillaman”

This short opens on a quaint little dollhouse that your grandma definitely owned. Alfred Chinchillaman is not only a cute little stuffed chinchilla but he also lives in a box filled with cotton balls and has a stuffed monkey that, unlike him, does not talk or move. And while Alfred seems loyal enough to love his only “friend” in the toy dwelling, he is also disloyal enough to bail on him the second a new, potentially female, addition to their family was evident.

But Alfred Chinchillaman’s hopes are soon dashed by a much larger, obviously male, rabbit is introduced. Tempers immediately reach a breaking point and the two adorable animals go at it in a fluffy bout the likes of which you’ve never seen. And after they have destroyed the entire room of old wallpaper and miniature home décor, they sit on the floor in dog scratching cones for some reason. And to close it out in an unresolved way, Alfred lobs one final verbal blow, “you’re going to have to get your own monkey.” Weirdly adorable and funny short with some furry violence that everyone can get on board with.
