Sony teams with Robot Chicken producers for new feature film
Sony Pictures must be serious about investing into animated film that is geared towards older audiences, because already they have Seth Rogen’s Sausage Party on the way, and now Variety is reporting that John Harvatine and Eric Towner, aka half of the merger that gave us Stoopid Buddy Stoodios, are producing a new live-action/stop-motion animation feature film with Sony as distributor.
The film is called Superbago which evidently revolves around a not so superhero team. Set to direct and produce are Jared Hess and Eric Robinson respectively, with Sony President Michelle Raimo Kouyate having this to say about the project:
“‘Superbago’ will skew older than our last features but I immediately fell in love with the smart comedy idea behind it, which features two irreverent stop-motion characters dropped in a live-action world,” Raimo Kouyate said. “The incredibly talented creative team of directors John Harvatine and Eric Towner, along with the unique perspective of producer Jared Hess, will make this project like nothing you’ve seen before.”
No word yet on a release date.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
