Simpsons Producers Spill Season 26 Plot Details
The masterminds behind The Simpsons – creator Matt Groening, showrunner Al Jean, animator/director David Silverman, and director Mike Anderson – were of course at Comic-Con, and they were dishing out fresh portions of Season 26 spoilers.
Most notably, this year’s “Treehouse of Horror” will actually air before Halloween for once, on October 19th. The episode will have a Clockwork Orange spoof entitled “Clockwork Yellow,” which fans got to see a sneak peak of, featuring Moe as Malcolm McDowell’s Alex character. Until now, the closest we got to a Clockwork parody was Bart’s costume in “Treehouse of Horror III.”
The season will also include a couch gag “so nightmarish it will change your DNA,” Groening leaked.
Oh yeah, and Spider Pig will have an appearance this season.
Groening also spoke about Futurama, specifically the crossover episode with The Simpsons that will include the entire Futurama cast. Although Groening said he has no plans to resurrect the space show, he mentioned he was scheduled to talk over a waffle breakfast about the future of the show with its staff. (Mmm…waffles.)
As for the future of The Simpsons, Groening dismissed any rumors about it ending soon. “We’re going to be around for a while,” he promised.
To see a little skit of Groening with a holographic Homer (and several poignant jabs at Comic-Con) be sure to watch the video below.

There's got to be some kind of twist that's going to happen with this. I don't know if they're setting up an April Fool's joke now or what's going on, but it seems too strange that they'd suddenly reverse on doing a fourth and fifth season after the show was already renewed and they were even just talking about working on those seasons like a couple months ago or something. Or maybe the two episodes yet to release will secretly somehow each be like a "season" in themselves?
