English Dub Review: Bleach Episode 352

The question isn’t if Ichigo gets his ass kicked, the question is how hard. Jackie doesn’t care for Ichigo, and she let’s Ichigo know!

Well, Ichigo got his wish, and is going up against a member of Xcution. Ichigo is either going to prove his trial by fire method works, or he’s going to get his ass kicked. Anyway, here’s episode 352.

Spoilers!

Ichigo and Jackie are inside the fish tank, and Jackie lets loose a kick that only empowered by her fullbring, Dirty Boots. Ichigo was barely able to dodge, and he notices Jackie’s outfit changed. Of course, Ichigo asks what her ability is, but Jackie obviously tells him to figure it out. Riruka decides she wants to leave, but Kugo needs her to stick around to undo her Dollhouse. Back inside, the fight between Jackie and Ichigo carries on, but Jackie notices that Ichigo is fighting with a pattern. Ichigo is winded, so Jackie goes on the offensive. Jackie finally lands a kick to Ichigo’s side, and gives him some cryptic clues about her Fullbring. The water is turning to mud, which makes her abilities seemingly hit harder. And Jackie confirms Ichigo’s suspicions, and she goes for stronger atacks.

Riruka is walking the street, complaining about Jackie’s Dirty Boots. She wants to be the clean and cute one, even in death. Back in the fish tank, Jackie is getting angry at Ichigo for not fighting back. She tells Ichigo that his attack varies, and she goes in to attack when he is most vulnerable. That was just a ploy to lure Jackie in, where he gains his Fullbring light with his kick. Jackie wants to know who taught Ichigo how to fight, but he was only taught the basics, and learned the rest as he went.  Ichigo and Jackie go for round two, with both unleashing their Fullbring abilities.

Chad stops by, and asks Kugo what Tsukishima’s ability is. Chad tells Kugo what happened with Orihime, and Chad thinks Tsukishima’s ability is a mental ability, like mind games. Inside the fish tank, Ichigo and Jackie continue their fight, but Ichigo’s Combat Pass is getting overpowered, and starts to take over. Outside, Kugo is puzzled, because if Tsukishima’s ability was mental, Kugo would have told Chad from the get go. Tsukishima’s ability is Book of the End, which is a sword that can cut through anything.

Inside, Ichigo’s combat pass has taken over his arm, but he wants to fight. Jackie wants to stop, but Ichigo tries to push forward. Ichigo is tries to say he’s in control still, that the Combat Pass is talking to him. Kugo then tells Chad that powers don’t change, but Chad says his powers have changed multiple times. Kugo says he is mistaken, because Chad’s latent ability was awakened. Kugo then brings up Uryu, saying Uryu’s memory might have been effected if that’s true.

Meanwhile, Jackie is covered in mud, which will only make her stronger. They make a charge at one another. Kugo is thinking that Tsukishima wasn’t the one who attacked Orihime. Then, like clockwork, Tsukishima cuts down the door, and confronts Xcution. Tsukishima cuts open the fish tank, where Ichigo comes out, in something resembling a typical Shinigami robe, and a dark blade covering his arm.

So much for people dying if the dollhouse is forced open, eh? Tsukishima finally made a move that did something, but he unleashed Ichigo. So, that is a double edged sword. I was also glad to see that Jackie can do something other than be a useless couch dweller. The pieces are finally moving, and it only took about 12 episodes, and an impending finale.

I think Jackie’s Fullbring ability is funny, because I don’t know many people who are willing to get down and dirty, even if the dirt gives them whatever power they need. All of these Fullbring abilities are really unique. A book that can generate a sword that can cut through anything, gaining power through getting dirty, locking people inside a dollhouse are things I haven’t seen before. Yes, I finally gave a complement to Bleach. Don’t worry, the backgrounds still have no details.

The wheels finally stopped spinning, and it’s great. It’s too bad that the episode was about 20 minutes in for anything to happen. But with about 12 episodes left, things have to get going some time. It’s just hard for me to say anything good, when everything still drags. You can start here, and be fine, because this episode is probably the one where Tsukishima gets started with his master plan.

Error happened.
