Comics Review: Simpsons Comics #213
Spoilers Below
Collection agencies will do anything to get the money you owe them…ANYTHING. Fortunately, Homer Simpson is a hand-drawn character who has access to a number of different methods in evading reps that we simply don’t have. One of those include Homer and the rest of the Simpsons family moving in with the Flanders’ whom help their neighborinos don costumes so as to avoid suspicion. However, an unexpected side effect presents itself when all of the Simpsons family does a better job at being Flanders’ than the real thing. This eventually gains the ire of Ned who rats on Homer to the collection agency and has his neighbor locked up. This makes for perfect timing for that of the unveiling of the mayors’ new public jail cell. Fortunately for Homer, Ned shows up with the money that Homer owes, but it doesn’t matter as all of the evidence that was used against Homer gets sent through a paper shredder.
You know what was most interesting about this month’s issue of Simpsons Comics? Edna was in it! Yep, in the comics world, Edna is alive and well and teaching Springfield’s youth. The character has been officially retired for television, but in the comics she’s still kicking, which has me wondering. Is this a permanent thing or was this issue already being put together when the voice of Edna aka Marcia Wallace had passed? In any case, I hope Edna stays, because I think that can be part of the ‘magic’ that is reading comics. So, pick this issue up…it COULD be the last time you see America’s favorite animated teacher.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
