Shorts Review: Stoopid Buddy Shortz – “Super Genius Evil Dinosaur”

Super Genius Evil Dinosaur needed to be a little more “super genius” and “evil” to make this short get there. It opens with the 90’s warning about the presence of a live studio audience, setting up a laugh track that fit the content of the short but not the character. The first shot showcases some typical middle school locker room talk of “your mom is hot” and “no seriously your mom is hot” which Super Genius Evil Dinosaur very casual joins in on.

Besides the entrance and exit of a bully character that seemed to add nothing to the story line except violence towards nerds, the short fast travels to the young man with the hot mom’s house to find her doing aerobics. This prompts Super Genius Evil Dinosaur to give her a “tasty” compliment, a recurring joke that again fit the live audience style but not the character. With a funny moment or two, this dinosaur needed to crave a little more world domination to spice things up.
