Shorts Review: Red vs. Blue Season 12 Episode 7

Time is running out for Tucker and the gang. Find out after the jump if they are anywhere near ready to save their friends!

Spoilers Below

With the number of episodes that have come so far, it’s rather reassuring that the writing is pacing out this well.  We will talk about that more in a bit. Here’s the recap!

Well, it’s that time to assess the team and see if they can hold their own in the field and save their friends. Tucker has Caboose, Grif and Simmons, he tells them that they are going alone, without their squad. Tucker thinks that it’s better to leave them, because he thinks they suck. There isn’t another chance, and they need to take it. They need to do what Felix couldn’t, and break into the compound. Grif is the first to get won over, because he doesn’t want to be Sarge and give shitty orders that no one wants to do. Simmons is on board after Grif’s speech, and Caboose is just Caboose. They leave, and the squad finds out that they were left behind.

They made it to the Desert Refueling station, debating over stupid powers, when they try to refuel. It seems abandoned, and Grif is inside giving a half-hearted attempt to find someone, until he comes across a dead body. Caboose hears a voice, who ends up being Feds, and the rest show up overseeing them. They get a message from Locus to get back to the base. Tucker thinks it’s best to follow them.

This is the first time I have watched RVB, and felt like I just watched about 6 minutes of a movie. In essence, we get what amounts to about a two hour and fifteen minute movie every season, yet this is the first time I felt like it.

Now you know someone is feeding information to the Feds, because Locus wants his troops back. My money is still on Felix, but we won’t know that until it actually happens. I think that it was a great development to get the Reds and Blues to show some balls, and try to get the fight done themselves instead of getting more people in the way. I just finished watching this, but I just can’t wait until next week. This is some of the best work Rooster Teeth has done since season one.
