Shorts Review: Red vs. Blue Season 12 Episode 6

I have a feeling this talk is going to be the type a mom gives her son. That can never end well.

Spoilers Below

Kimball is having a grown up talk with Tucker. She apologizes for Felix’s demeanor, saying deep down, he really cares. She tells Tucker he has his own motivation to fighting for the Republic. Kimball also tells him that she is the fourth leader, and that the others all got assassinated. Felix has been on the payroll for a while, and Kimball keeps reassuring Tucker that Felix’s motivation to win is to defeat Locus.

Meanwhile, Grif gathers Simmons and the Lieutenants, saying there was a security breach. Donut knows someone stole from his personal food stash. Grif goes Batman, and tries to deduce who took it. It ends up that Bitters ate it, and he is about to throw up. He realizes that he is turning into Sarge, and this breaks him down.

Back at the peaceful cove, Kimball tells Tucker that Locus was hired by the Federal Army because he was Felix’s rival. They fought together in the Great War, but never got along. When it ended, they got hired by opposite sides, and Felix took it as a challenge. Felix wants to know who was best. Tucker goes back to Simmons, Grif, and Caboose, and tells them to saddle up. They’re leaving.

Damn it, Rooster Teeth. You pretty much made this episode debunk my theory for Felix. Don’t worry, I still think Jensen will kill it at the end of the season. On a whole, however, this episode gave us the back story we sorely needed for Felix and Locus. The fact that those two used to be on the same team during the war was kind of a game changer. It shows that they are as close to equal as possible. Besides Grif’s psychotic breakdown, there wasn’t much else happening. This looks to be a bridge to a major battle coming within the next couple episodes. So, it looks like the season will ramp up again really soon.
