Rat Queens animated series in the works
Boy, independent comic adaptations of animated series have been going NUTS as of late ever since Axe Cop. Popular print publications like Killogy and Chew are already in development and now it looks like we’ve got another one on the way this one for Rat Queens.
According to Variety, Rat Queens is a dark comedy, described as a sass-and-sorcery series, revolves around beer-guzzling maidens — Hannah the Rockabilly elven mage, Violet the hipster dwarven fighter, Dee the atheist human cleric and Betty the hippy smidgen thief — who are hired to kill monsters and other beasts.
Weta Workshop’s Pukeko Pictures is pairing up with Heavy Metal to adapt the Image Comics IP for an animated TV series, so from the sounds of it things are picking up. I’ll be curious to see who the producers get to be in the pilot in terms of both cast and animation, but the concept sounds ready made for Adult Swim.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
