Ozzy Osbourne to Voice Bad-Ass Fish on Nicktoon
Ozzy Osbourne, Prince of Darkness, biter of dove & bat heads, consumer of enough drugs to kill a full-grown bull elephant, has a new project in the works: voicing a character on Nickelodeon’s Bubble Guppies.
According to the network, Ozzy will be playing Sid Fishy, “a rock and roll fish who loves being rotten,” – a name & description that curiously contains not one, but two Sex Pistols references.
And as far as kid’s shows go, the character looks pretty awesome. He has green skin and a gold & gap-toothed smile, in addition to rocking a red mohawk, eyebrow & fin rings, and a slime gun.
“The green liquid is Sid Fishy’s ‘stink sauce’ made up of different smells such as stinky socks and rotten eggs,” a show rep told Rolling Stone. “He wants to use the stink sauce to cover Big Bubble City and all its citizen to make them stinky.” Clearly a bad dude, and a riveting plot conflict.
“The whole reason I did the show was for Pearl,” Ozzy said, speaking about his 2-year-old granddaughter. “She has Nick Jr. on 24/7. I can’t wait to see her reaction when she hears my voice come from Sid Fishy’s mouth.” I don’t know what the facial expression of traumatization looks like, but that will probably be her reaction. Hearing a voice like Ozzy’s in real life is jarring enough to a toddler without hearing it suddenly come on the TV in the form of a talking fish as well.
However, this isn’t Ozzy’s first animated rodeo. He previously appeared as a cartoon in the video game Brutal Legend, the film Gnomeo & Juliet, the shows Legend of the Earth Troll and Fish Hooks, and the last time I dropped acid while listening to Black Sabbath for twelve hours straight.
Bubble Guppies debuted in 2011 and is currently in the midst of its third season.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
