DVD Review: Regular Show Season Three
The home release market is rather an interesting one. Why? Because, it’s shrinking in favor of Netflix and Hulu which offer a better value in terms of immediacy in content at a price that isn’t Amazon or iTunes charging you $2 an episode. As a result, DVD/Blu-Ray releases have to offer up a shit-load of extra features to make you want to plunk down your hard-earned money for a purchase. In the case of Regular Show, the season one/two release was a home release classic, unfortunately, the season three release is nowhere near, but that doesn’t mean we don’t have a good buy. It’s just that the bar was set so high on the previous release, season three could only HOPE to be as good.
Right from the start, there are no Blu-Ray/Digital options for Regular Show season three which sucks. What you DO get is 40 episodes of what was certainly one of the better runs of the Cartoon Network series. Out of the 40 episodes, 10 episodes feature commentary from the producers which wouldn’t be so much of an issue if the release as a whole had more impressive special features. Whereas the S1/S2 Blu-Ray featured tours of the studios, a look at the original pilot of Regular Show, and more. This release just features a lot of JG Quintel, which is cool, but I think I’m ready to meet a bunch more of the staffers/voices, you?
With this in mind, if you were to purchase the 40 episodes of Regular Show from Amazon.com, you would be paying a heck of a lot more. Plus, the majority of Cartoon Network shows on Amazon are all disorganized by season, and this can be seen when you look up Regular Show season 3 and you notice that you only get 24 of the 40 episodes that this release has which means you would have to scour the rest of the seasons of Regular Show to figure out what you missed in your collection. So while Amazon may usually win the battles when it comes to downloading episodes, this release certainly wins the war.

"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
