Comics Review: Simpsons Illustrated #11
Spoilers Below
Homer’s America
After taking the kids to a rousing field trip featuring the country’s best model displays of other museums, Homer, Lisa, and the rest of the 2nd grade class room head on back to the school. Unfortunately, Homer annoys the hell out of Otto so he ditches the school bus and takes off into the desert. Not one to believe in maps or GPS’s, Homer takes over the bus and takes the class on a road trip hitting the most historic sites in America. Lisa wasn’t too amused, but fuck her. Homer and the rest of the kids had a good time and were able to get home safely…just in time for an alien invasion that may or may not have happened.
Cyrano de Bart
Milhouse reads a shitty comic book to gain the affection of Lisa, but after Bart gives him a list of things to talk about in exchange for a T-shirt, Lisa hears about it and decides she wants nothing to do with a Van Houten.
Nerds of Prey
Bartman is captured by the crazy cat lady, so a team up featuring the four nerdiest girls to help save him. But, don’t bother asking him for a thank you.
Kwik-E-Bart
Apu gets locked in the freezer, so Bart takes over store operations for a spell until the father of nine is able to escape.
Do the Copyright Thing
Arthur Crandale steals Krusty’s copyright and as a result is able to legally take over Krusty’s long-running show. However, he gives back the rights without any recourse when he finds out that when you get someone’s name, you get EVERYTHING that comes with it…including massive amounts of DEBT!
This latest issue of Illustrated was pretty damn good and offered a good amount of variety. Maybe a little heavy on Bart, but we got a Bartman, a Milhouse, a Krusty, and a Homer story. THIS is what Illustrated issues should be all about, a bunch of different stories starring a bunch of DIFFERENT characters, and that’s what makes an issue like this a great value.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
