This Week In The Obituaries: Lee Marshall And Efrem Zimbalist Jr.

Lee Marshall, one of the most distinct voices in all of advertising, has passed away at age 64. Marshall was the first voice actor cast for the role of Tony The Tiger to actually say the famous catchphrase, “They’re GR-R-REAT!” He spent much of his early career as a sportscaster and ringside reporter for some smaller wrestling promotions before breaking into voice acting.

Our condolences are with his family and fans at this time.

Efrem Zimbalist Jr. might be better recognized for his work during the 70’s with shows like 77 Sunset Strip and The F.B.I. to his credit but we fondly remember him as Alfred Pennyworth from Batman: The Animated Series. He also voiced Dr. Octopus and King Arthur for the Spider-Man and Prince Valiant series respectively. His career in Hollywood lasted over 60 years, starring alongside such names as Audrey Hepburn and Pierce Brosnan. His contributions were great and he will be sorely missed.

Error happened.
