South Park producer to get prestigious award
Anne Garefino has been a producer of South Park since 2007, but has been working with Matt Stone and Trey Parker in a bunch of other projects for over ten years. Welp, all that work is about to pay off because Garefino is set to be presented with the Franklin J. Schaffner Alumni Medal at the AFI Life Achievement Award tribute honoring Jane Fonda at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood on June 5.
According to THR, the award recognizes “the extraordinary creative talents of a graduate of the AFI Conservatory or AFI Directing Workshop for Women who symbolizes the legacy of Franklin Schaffner.”
Of course, Anne already has just about every award you can get in entertainment with millions of Emmys and a bunch of Tonys for her role in The Book of Mormon, but hey…what’s one more?
The AFI Life Achievement Award ceremony will be broadcast on TNT on June 14 at 9:30 p.m. and as part of an all-night tribute to Fonda on Turner Classic Movies on Aug. 1.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
